About Scent of Steam

Scent of Steam is a two person industrial-psychedelic indie rock band from Pennsylvania consisting of Dawn who does everything and Adam who is on drums. I'm barely kidding with that description as Dawn is the vocalist, songwriter, makes the cover art, plays all other instruments, and does all the mixing and mastering, and Adam plays the drums and is the band's manager. Thus, Dawn does everything and Adam is the drummer (Hey I made a blinkie for that!).

Scent of Steam was born when Dawn made their first demo of the song "Nothing I Could Say" at 3:30am in December of 2019, at the time they had little to no musical experience or equipment but passion, creativity, and spite can fix most problems and they haven't stopped making music since. Dawn and Adam met far before this, having been internet friends for 6 years before deciding to move in together. Adam brough his interest in drumming and background is business to the band, becoming the drummer and manager. Scent of Steam's first two releases were singles, "Dialing for an Answer" and "Nothing I Can Say", two songs that would go on to appear on their first album. The band's debut album, Transmute, was released April 15th 2023 and was followed by the single "The Tower" on September 30th of the same year. Their next upcoming release is an, as of yet, untitled album which we know little about, but is set to release some time in 2025.

I started to get into the band in late 2023-early 2024 as I was getting to know Dawn and Adam. As we became friends I got more and more into the music and started listening to it far more than a normal person sould. This bloomed into my obsession with appreciation for Scent of Steam, and by proxy the creation of this fansite.
